Tyvek 500 Xpert White Hooded Coveralls (DuPont™)
Tyvek® 500 Xpert (DuPont™) is 100% synthetic material made from flash spun high-density polyethylene (HDPE) fibres and is recyclable. Tyvek® is an amazing material, providing an ideal balance of protection, durability and comfort and used to improve a variety of applications across multiple industries but fundamentally are lightweight, durable and breathable, yet resistant to water, abrasion, bacterial penetration and ageing. It contains a 3-piece hood for optimal fit to head and face when turning, elasticated face, wrists and ankles as well as glued-in waist elastic. Ample crotch area for freedom of movement. Large, easy-to-grasp zipper puller. Tyvek® is permeable to both air and water vapour, yet repels water-based liquids and aerosols. It offers an excellent barrier against fine particles and fibres (down to 1 micron in size), is ultra-low-linting and antistatically treated. Silicon non-added. Applications for Tyvek® 500 Xpert garments include those found in pharmaceutical handling, chemical processing, the oil and gas industry, general maintenance and operations, automatic spray painting and many others.

Key Tyvek®properties:
- Tensile strength: The nonwoven fibres of Tyvek® are randomly laid and compressed to provide superior tear and puncture resistance for long-lasting, durable protection.
- Barrier protection: Tyvek® is made up of continuous fibres that provide inherent microbial penetration resistance—preventing hazardous materials including asbestos, mould, fibreglass and lead from passing through the material.
- Breathability: Because no binders are used to hold Tyvek® together, tiny perforations remain which allow water vapour to permeate the material while preventing water and other liquids from entering, making Tyvek® highly breathable.
- Water-repellent: when the fibres in Tyvek® are spun and bonded under high heat and pressure, Tyvek® acts as a thermoplastic—returning to a high density, semi-solid state that prevents liquids from breaking the surface.
